Meet the Bands!
NEEDTOBREATHE http://www.needtobreathe.net/home/ - These guys have been getting a lot of publicity lately and are a family favorite (my wife's favorite concert)! Easy listening, but gets ya outta your seat rock, great for all ages! Kutless http://www.kutless.com/ - These guys are the whole package, great musicians, song writers, and performers! My wife and I spent some time with them back stage before a show and they were very gracious to their fans and they just couldn't wait to get back in the studio to get more of God's message out to us. 7th Day Slumber http://www.seventhdayslumber.com/ - Awesome easy Worship Rock to Metal! Pillar http://www.pillartour.com/ - I guess I would compare their music to that of the Beasty Boyz, or something along that line. I definitely like rocking out to these guys! RED http://redmusiconline.com/ - Great music, a sound all their own; powerful stuff, and not just the "heavy songs", the slower ones have the same power! Michael W Smith http://www.michaelwsmith.com/ - It's Michael W Smith, you can't go wrong with Michael, he has something for everyone. One of the best acts I've ever seen was Michael and Amy Grant singing "Lead Me On"! Michael has been so important to Christian music, he is the "Elton John or Billy Joel" of Christian music. Third Day http://thirdday.com/ - For some reason, I think of Bob Seger when I hear these guys, every song is a great song and it's a familiar, distinctive voice that always makes you feel at home. My wife and I had an awesome time at their show! *On a side note; lead singer Mac Powell is on a solo tour right now (Sept 12). Switchfoot http://www.switchfoot.com/ - I guess you could label these guys as one of Christian Rock's "Mega Bands"! They really went big with "Dare you to Move", and they have not slowed down yet! Demon Hunter http://www.demonhunter.net/ - Be prepared, all Christian music is not, how do I say it, uh proper? This is head-banging at it's best, but don't let that full you into thinking they don't carry the flame. These guys save more lost, young souls, than you imagine! Because their sound strategically attracts the "darkest" of hearts, and then lays the light at their feet! Amy Grant http://amygrant.com/tour/ - Well, what can you say about Amy? She won a Pop Grammy for "Angels Watching Over Me" and has never stopped praising His name! AS I Lay Dying http://asilaydying.com/ - I haven't heard much from these guys, but I hear their pretty hard core as well, have to get back to you on this one. Decyfer Down http://www.decyferdown.com/ - I have to say these guys are one of my favorite Christian rock bands, they aren't really known for anything special, but I love their great guitar riffs and they are great live! I haven't heard from them in a while, they were supposed to be working on a new CD, but nothing, nada, and their website gives no info either. What's up?!? |
Meet the Bands!
Skillet http://www.skillet.com/ - What can you say about a band that is actually named after a frying pan (their fan clubs is called the "Panheads")? This is my daughter Madison's favorite band, and even though she's 6 years old, it doesn't mean this band doesn't kick serious butt! When she was 3 she would ask if we could "jam"; one day she walked into my office and I was listening to something pretty heavy and I told her daddy was jammin', the rest is history! The band is great live as well!! Thousand Foot Krutch http://www.thousandfootkrutch.com/ - Hands down, my number one, favorite band! They have the sound, the voice, the lyrics, AND the commitment to Christ. I recommend this band highly and GO SEE THEM! MANY MORE ON THE WAY!! |
